According to claims this may be it. http://metropizza.com/ We may have to order this stuff in for Friday night in June.
The pizza at NY-NY is not bad either.
Before all you East coaster go pizza-nazi on this, this is just for pizza on the West Coast. ๐

We have had Metro Pizza on Friday nights when our class was held at the previous location. It is excellent! Unfortunately, Brothelman, Grimaldi’s are nowhere near Alexis Park.

On that note, though, does anyone know the best pizza in AC? Will be there soon and would love to get a slice or ten… ๐
I bet Jumbotron would have that info.

Stickman; we’ll just have to move the meetings to Summerlin or Spring Valley.

Pizza on the West Coast is an oxymoron.
Sorry PB, despite your request, I could not resist ๐

East Coast health food at it’s finest!
Unfortunately, I forgot the name of the joint… ๐ณ
But here’s how to find it:
1. Stop at the Irish pub on the corner in the Philly pier district and drink two pints of Guinness.
2. Drive around the area seeing the sights, architecture and historical landmarks.
3. About the time you need to use the restroom, pull over and go into the pizza joint that’ll be right there.
4. That’s the place… You’ve found it! Just an OK bathroom, but AWESOME pizza!
Maybe they’ll deliver to AC or LV… ๐

If you can not fold the slice in half and pick it up to eat it with one hand, it is not pizza.

Some paraphrases from the Article "Thereโs no questioning the pizza pedigree at this joint, and Dom DeMarcoโs does it with all the right ingredients: hand-crushed San Marzano tomatoes, Grana Padano cheese and imported Italian olive oil. The thin-crust, New York-style pizzaโexcellent with just cheese and basilโshould be catapulted into the Best Pizza in Vegas discussion. "

But I have an open mind and can be talked into trying them both. In fact maybe we should try them both twice just to be fair in case the first time is an off day.

Goddess
I got the following from their website:
The grimaldi’s difference
Brick Oven – Designed and built by hand, the coal-fired oven at Grimaldi’s Pizzeria delivers a unique flavor and consistency that is just not possible from wood or gas ovens. Weighing in at 25 tons and heated by 100 pounds of coal per day (cleanest burning fuel available and environmentally tested), the oven heats up to 1200 degrees. We also purchase special coal from Pennsylvania called anthracite. It actually burns cleaner and more Eco-friendly than gas or wood-fired methods. Every month we ship the coal in by railroad and distribute to our locations. The intense heat of the oven and coal evenly bakes the pies to create Grimaldi’s famous crispy and smoky crust that Zagat has voted best pizza year after year.
Stoking in Progress – To help maintain the integrity of our pizza, we re-light the fire at 4pm everyday (actual start times may vary from day to day). This process is called stoking. While we โstokeโ, we cordially invite you to enjoy a drink from the bar and a tasty starter from our menu. Sit back, relax and enjoy the beginnings of your Grimaldiโs experience!
Something in the Water – It has been said that the secret to true New York-style pizza is the water. Grimaldi’s believes that too, going to great lengths to keep the integrity of the water used in the Brooklyn pizzeria by hiring a chemist to analyze and recreate the mineral content and exact composition of the water. A custom water system pumping โNew York waterโ is installed in every Grimaldiโs Pizzeria to ensure that the dough tastes as authentically New York as possible.

One of the best pizza places in NYC is in the Dongan Hills area of Staten Island in a little place callrd Lee’s Tavern. It has been there forever. It also has a coal fired oven. One of the few still in NYC.
There is also a great place in Coney Island, Totonno’s i think that is also coal fired.

I couldn’t figure out why I could not open Scan’s link on my laptop until I tried it on my IPhone. Then I realized he posted the link for a mobile device because it begins with "m.youtube.com"
Here is the link for either a PC or mobile device.

But on that link it says, "Coming Soon". It is not open yet.
On that same link it says there is supposed to be one in the Fashion Show Mall which is on the Strip, north of The Mirage and across the Strip from the Wynn.

Not being someone who takes just anybody’s word for it, I stopped at Grimaldi’s pizza when I was in Las Vegas recently. While it was superb, I still prefer Metro Pizza. I know, I know, this is a very subjective rating, and I am not from New York, but Metro Pizza just tastes more like what I think New York pizza tastes (or should taste).
Probably the only way to resolve the issue is to try both of them side-by-side.

I wonder if they need to use a different oven in the mall for fire and venting?
next time in i will try metro.

Wow the sauce has a hint of tomato garlic basil, the cheese is fresh graded to keep in the oils, the flavor of the cheese is exelent, texture stingy but soft and now for the crust i am not a fan of thicker crusts but this one has an airy sour dough like freshness i mean i got some blue cheese and was dippin the crust it was so good.
I still have not tried metro but i wll and i will give my opion of it then.
You acould fold these slices stick the place is new and it is there to stay triple d gave it a great review You know the blond guy on dinners drive ins and dives!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I tried to find this place when I was in Las Vegas trying Grimaldi’s. I think I found the building (it had "Naked City Pizza" on a sign on the building, but when I went in it looked like just a small little dive bar. I could not find the pizza outlet.
I LOVE triple D. Guy Fieri finds some great places I wouldn’t even think of trying. I look forward to actually trying some Naked City Pizza on my next visit!
