C'mon GTC Memphis/Tunica Class 2012!

Spread the love

The only good thing about the GTC class weekend in Atlantic City being over…

Is that the GTC Memphis/Tunica classes are right around the corner! I’m getting excited! How about everyone else?

I especially like the Memphis/Tunica classes because of their smaller size. And, the casinos are just a short drive away. 😉

Looking forward to seeing old friends and making some new ones. This is going to be another GREAT class. Memphis/Tunica always is!

If you’re thinking about taking a class, it’s not too late to come for some priceless instruction in an awesome location!

Call Dom to see if Primer or Refresher spots are still available.

Hope to see you there!!!

Congrats on your well deserved promotion my friend. Your control was fantastic in AC. Have a great time in Memphis; wish I could do the road trip with you and BW, but work gets in the way of my fun sometimes.

KN,
People fly or drive into Memphis mostly. Some have flown into Little Rock which is about 130 miles from Memphis. The Nashville airport is about 210 miles from Memphis.

The classes are being held in the Crowne Plaza Hotel, 300 N second Street in Downtown Memphis. It is a nice hotel. For those who want to play in the casinos, Tunica is about a half hour away although GTC recommends not playing craps on Saturday night.
To repeat somewhat, the nice thing about the Memphis class is the smaller class size, making it a more personal learning experience. I believe it is also the only discounted GTC class so students in Memphis get more for their money.
Memphis itself has a lot of history and some notable tourist sights, namely Graceland, Sun Studio, Stax museum, National Civil Rights Museum among others. It is also the home of some GREAT barbeque, Beale Street (like Bourbon street but with blues instead of jazz) and the Peabody ducks.

Anyone even slightly thinking about attending a class should give Dom a call and sign up for the Memphis class. There is still time to register.

It is a great learning experience at a budget price with friendly (and somewhat slower paced) service.

I look forward to seeing everyone there.

…on the fence at the last min., but once I have my mind set on something…I’m usually all in.

Prob’ on the phone w/Dom on Friday.

Hello KN,

All good questions. Memphis/Tunica is my favorite class location.

Memphis is also a Delta Airlines hub and there are plenty of flights to choose from.

As I’m sure otherson the board will attest, you’ll find taking the class to be one of the best investments you could make.

Should you sign up, I’ll look forward to meeting you!

KnowNothing,

Glad you were able to sort it out. It will be a pleasure to meet you and work with you.

Guess you will need a new handle after taking the class. This one will not be appropriate any more 😀 😀 😀

I am really looking forward to this class. I always enjoy the class in Memphis because it is usually a smaller class size than at our other venues. It seems like I get a lot more face time with each and every student.

Memphis is a great venue. Close to Tunica casinos, yet in a great town with lots to do and see. I am going out there early to finally visit and see the sights. Stickman has been kind enough to volunteer to be a tour guide for Frank and me. I can not wait to soak up some Southern charm and culture.

I saw the play, "Million Dollar Quartet" with my family this past Thanksgiving. From the play’s website:

MILLION DOLLAR QUARTET is the smash-hit musical inspired by the famed recording session that brought together rock ‘n’ roll icons Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis and Carl Perkins for the first and only time.

On December 4, 1956, these four young musicians gathered at Sun Records in Memphis for what would be one of the greatest jam sessions ever. MILLION DOLLAR QUARTET brings that legendary night to life, featuring a score of rock hits including "Blue Suede Shoes," "Fever," "That’s All Right," "Sixteen Tons," "Great Balls of Fire," "Walk the Line," "Whole Lotta Shakin’ Goin’ On," "Who Do You Love?," "Matchbox," "Folsom Prison Blues," "Hound Dog" and more.

This thrilling musical brings you inside the recording studio with four major talents who came together as a red-hot rock ‘n’ roll band for one unforgettable night. Don’t miss your chance to be a fly on the wall of fame… at MILLION DOLLAR QUARTET!

I am really looking forward to seeing the city where Rock "N" Roll was born.

Sun Studio was fascinating, Beale Street was fun, Graceland was not what we thought it would be. Don’t forget to see the Peabody ducks! How funny!
